Quickstart
Add your first client, send them their link, and make your first call with their connection.
From a new account to a workflow using a client's Google Sheets, in about ten minutes plus however long your client takes to open their link.
Before you start
Create an account and a workspace for your agency. It starts on the free plan (Plans and limits). On your first visit a short tour explains these steps, and Get started on Home checks each one off as it happens.
Add a client
Clients → Add client. Type their name, optionally their email, and select the services their workflows need.
- Client name is what your client sees on their page.
- Their email is used to send them their link if access ever ends.
- Each service says Sign in or Paste a key, so you know what the client will be asked to do.
Press Add client and copy link. The link is on your clipboard and the client's page opens.
Send them their link
With their email added, we email them their link, unless you turned that off in Settings. Email link on their page sends it again, and Copy link copies it for an email, chat or your project tool. A message like this works:
Hi Anna, to let our automations work with your tools, please open this link, save a passkey (Face ID, a fingerprint or your phone) and press Connect for each one. There's no account to make, you sign in on each service's own page, and we never see your passwords. You can remove access any time from the same link.
[their link]
Thanks, Your AgencyThey have 7 days to open the link and save a passkey. After that, the same link keeps working for as long as they're your client. If their access ends later, we email them to reconnect from that link.
Your client connects
They open the link, save a passkey, and see one card per company. One Google sign-in covers both Sheets and Gmail.
They press Connect, sign in on that company's own screen and approve. Services that use a key get a box to paste it instead. What your client sees has every screen.
Watch the status change
| Each service | The client overall |
|---|---|
| Waiting, Connected, Expired | Waiting, Partly connected, Ready, Needs reconnecting |
You get a notification each time they connect a service, and an email when everything is connected. See Notifications.
Create a key and make your first call
API & webhooks → Create key. Name it ("n8n production") and optionally limit it to some clients and services. It starts with oa_ and is shown once, so copy it now. Lost it? Revoke it and make another (API keys).
- In n8n, open Settings → Community nodes and install
n8n-nodes-operate-as. - Add an Operate As API credential and paste your key.
- Add the Operate As node, pick a client, a service and an action, and run it.
On n8n Cloud without community nodes, use the HTTP Request node with the HTTPS API. See n8n.
The answer is the service's own: its HTTP status in status, its response in data. See HTTPS API.
Got a 409?
The client hasn't connected that service yet, or their access ended. Retrying won't help: send them their link. More in Troubleshooting.
